Welcome to my series, Incremental Poetry, where each week the featured poem will be one line longer than the one I share the week before. I have no idea how long I’ll keep this up, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Thank you for stopping by.

About the Poem:
Thinking of how poetry has connected me to many friends, both old and new

Egg Timer
Apparently invented by Dorian Peterson Potter, since all known samples were written by her.
It is an unrhymed decastich with a syllabic pattern 5-4-3-2-1-1-2-3-4-5.
The last five lines are the mirror image of the first five lines.
This decastich form was not included in my series of challenges because I didn’t discover it until later. That is why I chose to use it for today’s Incremental Poetry writing.
