It has been a long time since I’ve participated in the challenges at dVerse Poet’s Pub, and I’ve truly missed the interaction with my fellow poets. Well, I may not be back on a regular basis, but I’m back at least for today, with a submission for Poetics: Oral Poetry. The challenge was to create a poem entirely in your head (in the spirit of Beowulf and other ancient poems), write it down if desired, and present it as an oral reading. It’s been my desire for some months now to add audio to my blog posts, so with this one I have finally got the ball rolling. The photos used are my own.

Returning to health??? Were you ill?

Yes. My husband, daughter, and I all had Covid at the same time. Mine went into pneumonia. It’s the hardest illness I’ve ever endured. It took a while, but I’m back to normal now, as is my daughter. My husband, who had been doing great, is now fighting a nasty head cold.

Thank you for your kind words, Ingrid. I meant to share a different poem with Open Link Night and completely forgot. It didn’t even occur to me to put this one there. 🙂
