Like fields of snow,
your eyes glow with
light so airy.

Than Bauk
This Burmese form is shorter than the haiku, but more structured.
It is written in three lines, with four syllables per line and a descending step rhyme:
XXXA
XXAX
XAXX
Oh, what an interesting poetry form. I have not heard of it before. I will try it! Thanks for sharing. ❤

Thank you, Jan. It makes you think a lot for such a little poem. 🙂

One of the reasons I enjoy reading your blog is the variety of, often obscure, forms you incorporate. Since reading this post, I have tried a few Than Bauk of my own and have had fun with it.

It has become an obsession of mine to experiment with new forms, and the more obscure the better.
