Dream well, if well you can:
invention from each vision streams.
Fearful contemplation banโ
hope is the pith of noble dreams.
This is the hardest Dribble I’ve ever written. It just didn’t seem to want to come together. As usual, I wrote in stream-of-consciousness mode, then reworked the lines to get the verse down to exactly 100 letters, as per the rules for this form. When I finally succeeded, I didn’t like it, so I scrapped the entire thing and started over. The second go around was more laborious than the first. I’m still not 100% happy with it, but hopefully it makes sense to some. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Dribble
Name derived from the name of the micro-fiction form โDrabble,โ which is a story consisting of exactly 100 words. A Dribble is a poem consisting of exactly 100 letters (not charactersโspaces and punctuation are not counted) in four lines.
Because of the brevity of the poem, the title is integral to the poem (though not included in the count).
Usually humorous
Rhyme scheme: abab
