New Birth

Christ was born
that I might be born
again, born anew, because
the first birth was not enough to live
forever

In a few days I’ll be celebrating my 32nd year in the family of God. I’m not nearly as mature as I ought to be, but thank God I’m not what I used to be.

Knowing the exact day is not important, but the decision itself is the most important one you will ever make. This life is temporary, but our souls were made to live forever. There is only one way to spend eternity in heaven, and that is by receiving Jesus Christ into your heart. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.”

Have you had a new birth? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. If not, I’d love to tell you more.

Quintet II
Like the Crapsey Cinquain, but with an added syllable in each line.
