Hope

At times we endure extreme duress
Bear the crushing weight of stress
When pressed by starkness
Of darkness
Cope

Another hardship conveys distress
Try to move on nonetheless
When pressed by starkness
Of darkness
Grope

Or to God’s grace humbly acquiesce
He stands waiting there to bless
When pressed by starkness
Of darkness
Hope
