Elusive Warmth

Here I sit
At my desk
Giving birth
To another poem.
A blanket hugs me
Like a cocoon
But still I tremble
Unable to find warmth
Though winter is far behind us.

The chill reminds me
Of my frigid marriage bed
Two bodies are supposed
To give heat to one another
My partner gives me but ice
