Here I sit At my desk Painfully Giving birth To another poem.
Birth of a Friendship
Two feet stood there I tried to hurry past Then my hand grew warm
Merciful Wounds
If it takes the wounds of a cherished friend to teach me more of my Savior, then I welcome them in spite of their pain.
Fickle Sanctuary
Please let me stay here Don’t make me go HE is out there
Sonnet II (Millay)
Time does not bring relief; you all have lied. Who told me time would ease me of my pain!
Look Not on the Thorns
Our friendship includes pain Not unexpected, But the pricks are small compared to all We add to one another.
Wall
When I was sick and in such pain, You hurt me over and again. You had to have your daily thrill, Came into me against my will.
Loving Difficult People
What if you made it to the end of your life having loved only those who loved you back?
Enemy Kisses
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Thankful for the Thorns
Dear God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I’ve thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns.
