Spiritual Warfare

I war with a stark
enemy
whose heart is a dark
ebony.

Attacks on my soul
previous
were sudden and whole
devious.

His thunderous roar
sinister
would fear to my core
minister.

But God will as steel
fortify;
my enemy He’ll
mortify.

Though now I may pace
heavily,
my goal is a place
heavenly.
