A Higher Calling Calls

The world of words
I’ve come to know and love—
behind those words are people
like yourself
like me
whose hopes and heartaches
shape me—
I will not say good-bye
but only “till we meet again”
a higher calling calls
and I must answer

My page has become more and more a ghost-town for words over the past several weeks, but now the time has come for me to vacate it altogether, at least for a while. While I do enjoy writing, my greater joy is art, and I am presently in the thick of it as I prepare for a fall tour of shows. I’ve been juggling both art and writing for a while now, and dropping the ball on both. It’s time for me to give my undivided attention to my art.

My Sunday posts are already scheduled for the rest of the year, so they will continue to appear; but the Incremental Poetry series will have to go on hold for a while. I do hope, as time permits, to write more poems for that series so that I am ready to share them with you come January.

Also, I have really missed the poetry community I’ve met here, reading your poems and contributing to challenges and such—especially at d’Verse. So in honor of all the poets who meet there, I’ve written my farewell in a Quadrille. Hopefully when I return, I will have learned a better balance between painting and writing. My best to all!

    1. Thank you, Jenna. I have missed you and your beautiful poetry as well, and I miss writing. I thought I’d continue to write even though I’m not posting anything, but I haven’t had time. I will certainly share my art!
