the side of me most people never see
In all the years we were together
we laughed and cried
we talked
kept silence
shared secrets and exposed vulnerabilities
and we embraced
but
we never kissed…
yet may your bark
know
no
peaceful place to harbor
if you dare say
we never loved

Not every romance has kissing in it. Sometimes true love saves the kiss for the right moment….

Wow! You didn’t make it feel like a stretch or a word exercise to get exactly 44 words in that beautiful poem. It was heartfelt and natural. Beautiful!
