Birth of a Friendship

Great misunderstanding
Even greater mistake
Lies
Heated interrogation
Public humiliation
And her world went black

Numb and senseless from the horror
Breathing labored from the weight of the shame
She braced herself and descended into the silence

Two feet stood there
She tried to hurry past
Then her hand grew warm
From his hand taking hold
Her mind struggled to comprehend
Do I dare look up?

Those eyes—
Why do they glisten?
Could it be for me?

  2. Reblogged this on The Reluctant Poet and commented:
“The Birth Of A Friendship” on Linda Luna’s, Darkside of the Moon shows how empathy, concern and caring can be found even in our darkest of days with someone who is willing to sit with us in our darkness! Friendship is a gift for a lifetime.

Please enjoy Linda’s other works on her blog and feel free to share “Birth of a Friendship”
